By Marta Besso

Botox is a wrinkle-removing therapy that has gained popularity all over the world with all kinds of people and personalities who are seeking to look younger. Botox therapy is not as invasive as other cosmetic procedures in a way that plastic surgery is. Moreover, it is not a permanent technique; fading is inevitable but may be prevented from happening too quickly. Botox is less risky since it is not as invasive as plastic surgery. Over time, Botox is a more recommended procedure to look young because it is much safer although it is less permanent.

What Comprises Botox?

Botox is just a brand name and is no different than Advil which is really the generic Ibuprofen as is Motrin also a brand name for Ibuprofen. On the other hand, botulinum toxin is what makes up Botox. This toxin may sound familiar because it can be the culprit for food poisoning and even paralysis if ingested in large quantities. But when sued in smaller amounts it is termed the procedure called Botox. This treatment temporarily remove wrinkles or those excess facial lines. parties are common wherein guests use Botox on each other while wining and dining. But a safer Botox and hair removal procedure must involve the assistance of a professional.

Which Therapies?

this treatment is injection of botulinum toxin that removes or lessens frown lines that surround your eyes or wrinkles or those deep furrows between your eyebrows. The toxin or chemical is injected directly on the surface and will be followed by controlled weakening of the muscles that create the wrinkles and lines when you frown or smile. As the muscle relaxes the skin smoothes out. Botox is not only remedy for cosmetic enhancements but for treatment of some organic medical conditions as well. Botox therapy may also be used to treat lazy eye and swelling of prostate. This is also used to treat chronic pain, headaches, any hyperhidrosis conditions or maybe a cramp from writing. If you live in Florida, you can get this treatment pretty much at a Miami spa.

How It Works

It is the nervous system that it effects. It actually blocks any signals which your nerves normally send to the muscles where it is injected. Approximately two days after the treatment muscles that were injected with Botox start relaxing then muscles will weaken and diminish your wrinkles. This same reaction can relieve migraine headaches or muscle cramps or even that chronic pain. It will take half a year before you'll need another Botox injection again. Many patients then have follow up sessions at this point.

The Side Effects

When you have your Botox treatments performed by a trained technician under the watch of the licensed physician you will experience very few if any side effects. You may suddenly come up with a headache, indigestion or nausea. Some people have flu-like feelings. However if you go to a clinic that specializes in the process the hazards are minimized. If you get the procedure too many times you may get that artificial plastic look.
