Diamond Polishing Pads: The Beauty of Concrete Diamond Polishing Pads

By John Roney

Concrete Diamond Polished Pads are a smart choice for floors and countertops. Polished floors are beautiful, durable easy-to-maintain and clean but that is just the beginning of the advantages they offer. Whether your floor is old or new, concrete diamond polishing pads generate a smooth, glossy, non-skid, durable and attractive concrete floor. They are ideal for retail stores, warehouses, schools, offices, show rooms, and manufacturing facilities.

Diamond polishing pads can be comfortably applied to marble polishing, granite polishing and concrete polishing. There is a complete line of pads available in the market for different applications such as Wet Resin Bond Diamond and Dry Polishing Pads. Wet Resin Bond Diamond are the best pads for polishing granite and marble in stone shops whereas; dry diamond polishing pads are used for polishing marble, granites, concrete floors and counter tops.

Diamond polishing pads are a very economical way for businesses to make quick and drastic improvements to their flooring, because they do not require any change to the cleaning routines already in place. Existing equipment can be used as normal, as the pads can attach to most wet and dry scrubber driers, burnishers and high speed floor polishers. No new machinery is required to make the pads work, and the cleaning staff do not need any specialist training to use them; removing two substantial financial burdens from the business owner.

Polishing your concrete has to go through several stages: Polishing your concrete is done in several passes. You may use the best diamond polishing pad to pass it over each successive concrete surface, doubling the size of the grit as you change pads. Switch to a 32-grit diamond pad, then move to a 60- grit diamond pad, and finally to a 120- grit pad. At this stage, surface is reasonably level but the shiny element may still lag behind. So, as to give more decorative value to the surface, you must start with a 50- grit pad till a 3000 grit pad to get the finest polished surface.

Ease of Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining a polished floor is not only simple but economical. Only a light cleaning is involved on a day-to-day basis. Dry concrete polishing pads protect against absorption of oil and other contaminants and even resist tire marks from fork trucks and traffic. Do your homework, go and look at floors that have been down for years. Do the floors look better or worse since they were originally installed? Just because a salesperson comes to your place and shows you photos of his "Polished Concrete" work, does not mean that it is truly a diamond polished work. Ask for locations of his work, how long the floors have been down, and be the judge. An eco-friendly floor may be waiting to be polished under your carpet. Likewise, that outdated countertop may be begging for a unique concrete countertop. You may be surprised at how Diamond Polishing Pads can make your concrete a beautiful part of your home or business decor.
