4 Of The Best On-Page SEO Tips

By Abraham Joseph

Does your website show up on page one of the search results when people search for terms that are related to your Business? If so, you probably enjoy a lot of Internet traffic from people who are looking for what you have to offer.

Search engines use your page title as the header for your listing, so you want something that grabs the attention of the searcher. Get this wrong and you could be losing out on traffic, and it will likely be going to your competitors.

Search engine optimization techniques include highly informative content, link building, social media marketing and optimization among others. For one to implement any of these techniques, he or she needs proper understanding of how they work their influence and the way forward to execution.

A study by Compete.com, said that over fifty percent of the actual clicks went to the winning site that appeared in position one. Fifteen percent went to the second ranking website. Nine percent went to the site in the third position. As the search position drop, so did the amount of traffic generated from search results. As you can imagine, sites that were off of page one got very little traffic from most Internet searches.

A lot of people do not realize that internal linking is just as important as external linking. If you run something like a blog, then it already has a level of internal linking built-in, but you can get plugins to enhance it and improve your SEO. You should have recommended posts listed on each page, as this can keep visitors on your site longer.

All the links used for the link building exercise need to be live and working. The link builder should test all the links to ensure they lead to a webpage, and that the links to and from the page will not change over time. Using dead links to promote a website is a major risk to the website's rank and should be avoided at all costs.
